Life Science Associations

Invest Sweden is a government agency working to promote and facilitate foreign investments and business opportunities in Sweden. Invest Sweden has Swedish offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg, and international offices in North America, China, Japan and India.

SwedenBIO is the Swedish life science industry organization and it is a membership financed non-profit organization. The main objective is to improve industry conditions and to support business development among the over 100 member companies. SwedenBIO is the spokesman organization for the industry towards government, public and foreign contacts.

LIF is the trade association for the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Sweden. LIF has about 75 members and associate companies who represent approximately 80 percent of the total sales of pharmaceuticals in Sweden. LIF represents its members in issues of common concern. LIF is also a service organisation for the member companies, informing them on questions vital to the industry.

IML is an exclusive Swedish association for small and medium-sized Swedish life science firms active in R&D. The association was established in 1987 and is associated with LIF, the Swedish association for research based pharmaceutical firms. This grants IML member firms associate membership in LIF. The purpose of IML is to encourage a network between similars, in non competitive matters. IML shall also as act as a referral body and contact centre for key issues affecting Swedish life science SME firms. IML is also the Swedish partner of Europharm SMC , granting its members membership and access to Europharm´s wide European network of 250 SME life science firms.

The Swedish Industrial and Chemical Employers Association is an employer organisation with a focus on industrial businesses. There are approximately 1 200 member companies employing around 85 000 staff. The companies represent the entire spectrum of the biotechnology industry, from small companies to multinational organisations. With our wide-ranging knowledge of the industry, we are the natural employer organisation for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Our current membership list includes companies such as AstraZeneca AB, Biovitrum AB, Pfizer Health AB, Novartis Sverige AB and Recip AB.
