Cutting edge research at Sahlgrenska Academy
The Sahlgrenska Academy is the faculty of health sciences at the University of Gothenburg. Education and research are conducted within the fields of medicine, pharmacy, odontology, health and care sciences.

The pharmaceutical research at Sahlgrenska Academy is performed in close collaboration with Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Strong fields of research are, research regarding cardiovascular diseases, obesity and diabetes, to mention a few.

Gothenburg boasts a strong tradition within odontology. The scientists in the institute of odontology are some of the most cited in their work field worldwide. Important fields of research include dental biomaterials and implantology.
