The University of Gothenburg
The University of Gothenburg has approximately 39,000 students and 5,000 employees. It is one of the major universities in northern Europe and also one of the most popular universities in Sweden. The University´s roughly 40 different departments cover most scientific disciplines, making it one of Sweden´s broadest and most wide-ranging higher education institutions.

The Sahlgrenska Academy
The Sahlgrenska Academy is the faculty of health sciences at the University of Gothenburg. Education and research are conducted within the fields of medicine, pharmacy, odontology, health and care sciences.

The pharmaceutical research at Sahlgrenska Academy is performed in close collaboration with Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Strong fields of research are, research regarding cardiovascular diseases, obesity and diabetes, to mention a few.

Gothenburg boasts a strong tradition within odontology. The scientists in the institute of odontology are some of the most cited in their work field worldwide. Important fields of research include dental biomaterials and implantology.

The Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science includes all the major subject areas in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences. With 6500 students and 800 employees it is the second largest Faculty at the University of Gothenburg.
