Gothenburg life science companies receive funding from VINNOVA
Several Gothenburg-based firms are to be found among the 49 projects that have received a total of almost SEK 60 million in funding in the VINNOVA programme Forska&Väx.
VINNOVA funds research and development in small and medium-sized enterprises through Forska&Väx. The investment totals SEK 120 million annually. Companies can apply for two types of funding: implementation of R&D projects and preliminary studies ahead of R&D projects. The companies have to invest at least the same sum of money in co-funding R&D projects.

In the first round of Forska&Väx applications in 2011, funding is being granted to 49 small and medium-sized enterprises for a total of nearly SEK 60 million.

The following Gothenburg-based firms active in life science are receiving funding:

Biopolymer Products of Sweden ABexternal link, opens in new window, Gothenburg, SEK 1 500 000, environmentally friendly anti-rust treatment using protein from mussels

RTI Electronics ABexternal link, opens in new window, Mölndal, SEK 500 000, radiation detector to meet new measurement needs in dental radiology
