ES Equipment with S-CUT tool winner of "Quality Innovation of the Year 2011"
The S-CUT emergency cutting tool was developed in response to a request by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and is today used by organisations such as ambulance crews, fire and rescue services, the police and military and the offshore industry the world over.
The aim of the “Quality Innovation of the Year" award is to encourage more companies to engage in high-class innovations. It is issued jointly by the quality institutes of Sweden, Finland and Estonia. The award gives companies and organisations in these three countries the opportunity to measure up against competitors and to gain feedback from various quality and innovation perspectives.

This year´s awards ceremony took place in Helsinki on November 10. The awards were handed over by the Tarja Halonen, President of Finland, and Charlotte Brogren, Director General of Vinnova. This year marked the first time Sweden entered the competition. The competition has been held in Finland since 2007 and in Estonia since 2010. ES Equipment emerged as the winner in the “Micro Organizations" category.

The S-CUT emergency cutting tool was developed in response to a request by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, which wished to replace its existing scissors for removing chemically polluted clothing in situations with many victims. The tool is today used by ambulance personnel, fire services, the police, military, the offshore industry and others the world over.
