GöteborgBIO congratulates Professor Kaj Blennow of the Sahlgrenska Academy on receiving the 2010 European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Award. He was given the award for his research into Alzheimer´s disease and for the consistently high quality of his research achievements over a number of decades.
Kaj Blennow conducts research into the mechanisms behind neurological disorders and over the past twenty years he has developed biochemical tests for Alzheimer´s disease. The tests have been used for many years in the Swedish health-care system to evaluate patients with suspected Alzheimer´s symptoms, and they are now being increasingly used throughout the rest of the world.ECNP
