Prestigious award for nanocement
Prestigious price for nanocement
Doxa receives the 2010 “New Product Innovation of the Year" award, presented by global consultancy Frost & Sullivan. Doxa is getting the award for its dental cement, launched in November last year following 22 years of research and development.
Frost & Sullivan, which presents the award once a year, notes that the dental cement (Ceramir® Crown & Bridge) is based on Doxa´s spearhead technology for new products in dental care.

“It´s wonderful that Ceramir is being spotlighted in this way so soon after its launch, and we truly hope it will revolutionise dental care," says president Fredrik Alpsten.

Ceramir dental cement is a product used to attach crowns and bridges in the mouth. It is a powder (calcium aluminate) which in contact with water forms nanocrystals. It very closely resembles the human body´s own dental and bone mineral, apatite. These nanocrystals fill in all the unevenness in the tooth and create a tight seal with the body´s own material. Since the cement does not shrink, there is a reduced risk of crack formation where new attacks on the tooth may otherwise take place. The cement is also regarded as a bioactive material which interacts chemically with the body´s own materials

The award will be presented on May 18 at the Emirates Stadium in London.
