“Carmel Pharma is an excellent example of how Swedish innovation helps create more jobs and contributes to steadily increasing turnover for the company," says Minister for Trade Ewa Björling. “We always maintain that increased export leads to increased welfare, and this is ably illustrated by Carmel Pharma which is a particularly worthy winner of the Swecare Export Award 2009. We would like to see more companies like this," concludes Ewa Björling.
The Swecare Export Award was established in 2008 in celebration of Swecare´s 30th anniversary. Through the award, Swecare aims to bring light to best practice in the export of Swedish health care and life science, by annually awarding a company that can demonstrate significant growth of international exports in relation to its size and by using a creative and novel business model.
The jury´s statement:
“With the help of Swedish innovation, creativity and a fresh approach to internationalisation, this year´s award winner has become the market leader on strategically vital markets such as the USA, Germany, France, Canada and Japan. Its products serve multiple purposes and protect personnel throughout the operational chain from unnecessary exposure to potent perfusion solutions. Used correctly, the company´s products deliver environmental benefits to both patients and staff as well as the surrounding environment, at the same time as major health-economy benefits in the health sector are achieved. The internationalisation process has taken place with a significant rise in the rate of growth and has at the same time promoted increasing financial margins for the company."
