Professor Carina Mallard at University of Gothenburg will receive EU financing for a major international project she is undertaking. "Better understanding of the blood-brain barrier´s function would make it easier to treat brain damage in the future," says Professor Carina Mallard of the Physiology Faculty at University of Gothenburg.
The financial package for the University of Gothenburg researchers, totalling three million kronor, is part of the 30 million kronor that the EU´s seventh framework programme has earmarked for the Neurobid project. In Göteborg, the researchers will focus primarily on the function of the blood-brain barrier among newborns with brain damage.
