NUTEK, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, has been given a Government remit to support private business incubators as a pilot initiative. The purpose of the programme is to broaden and expand the existing, more traditional supply of an incubator. Another underlying principle is that the projects have to be able to meet the needs of a wide range of entrepreneurs in terms of sector, gender, ethnic background and so on.
P.U.L.S. regards the support from NUTEK as providing great opportunities to develop new ways of identifying medical needs and ideas for projects, as well as making it possible to reach a broader target group of innovators. The NUTEK grant also makes it possible to further strengthen P.U.L.S. processes for support to project companies and consequently create the ideal conditions for new and existing project companies.
“It is necessary to offer the right skills in order to build high quality into the projects from the outset and so to make maximum use of the projects´ potential. After we strengthened our organisation in the second half of 2008, this is yet another step along the way to enabling more innovations to reach the market," says Ottosson.
