Together with the new research lab that AstraZeneca opened this past winter they have now invested over SEK 800 millions in two of the company´s most modern and most environmental friendly establishments for pharmaceutical research and development.
“The reason behind the new research lab is the need for new labs for production of pharmaceuticals used in phase III studies. The old labs didn´t fill the needs for capacity, environment demands and work environment. The new lab is very advanced in these areas and will stay so for the coming 10-20 years. On top of that it is also more efficient" says Ann-Leena Mikiver, head of press relations at Astra Zeneca.
- What will this new lab mean to AstraZeneca?
“It will supply AstraZeneca with pharmaceuticals for our clinical studies world wide. Globally we have six labs like this" says Ann-Leena Mikiver.
