Innovations for Future Health - Invitation to submit sketches of ideas
VINNOVA hereby invites persons active in universities, university colleges, research institutions, healthcare and research-intensive SMEs (maximum 250 employees) to submit sketches of ideas in the call for proposals Innovations for Future Health 2009.
VINNOVA´s aim with Innovations for Future Health 2009 is to support and put to use Swedish research in the life sciences and innovation that meets the needs of the future in the form of new products, services and processes for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of disease. VINNOVA´s programme Innovations for Future Health is intended to put to use Swedish research of high scientific and/or technical quality by funding innovative and pioneering ideas. The programme is based on the needs that can be thought to exist in the area of health in the future in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of disease. The programme is intended to result in improved quality of life and health, increased need- and innovation-driven high-quality Swedish research and more successful export companies in Sweden in the area of health. A total of up to SEK 600 million is being invested in the programme over the period 2009-2014.
The field for the call for proposals is foods, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, biotechnology and medical devices. The 2009 call for proposals includes investments in research and innovation environments and research and innovation projects.
The call for proposals takes place in two stages. The first stage involves a sketch of ideas and the second consists of a full application. This invitation relates to the first stage, which is a sketch of ideas. Sketches received will be assessed and a number of proposals will be offered the opportunity to move on to stage two - complete application - which in turn will be assessed for a final decision on funding.
Deadline for submission of sketch of ideas: 2 pm on 17 September 2009
Earliest start date for project: 1 June 2010
