Göteborg-based companies receive R&D funding from Vinnova
Albireo, Integrum, Vitrolife and Denator are some of the companies granted funding in the second stage of this year´s Vinnova “Research & Grow" programme.
A total of 120 million kronor is made available every year as part of the programme and companies can apply for funding for three types of project: implementation of R&D projects, preliminary studies ahead of R&D projects, and identification of needs prior to R&D projects. The companies themselves must also contribute at least the same amount of money towards the funding of their R&D projects. There were 287 proposals in this year´s second round of applications, of which 64 were granted. All told, Vinnova´s grants are being shared by 64 projects.Among the companies allocated funds in the second round are the following Göteborg-based firms: Albireo, Göteborg, 500,000 SEK, locally produced pharmaceuticals for inflammatory intestinal ailments Integrum, Göteborg, 500,000 SEK, implantable control of amputation prostheses Vitrolife Sweden, Göteborg, 3,614,000 SEK, optimised cultivation media for permitting clinical use of stem cells. Denator will receive 500 000 SEK for a pre-study for stabilization of clinical samples for improving correct diagnosis
