French-Swedish Prize for excellence in Research: launch of a new prize
The French Embassy in Sweden is launching the First edition of a national prize, rewarding the work of young researchers, PhD students or postdoctoral fellows.
The French Embassy in Sweden and the Swedish-French Association for Research (AFSR) launch the first edition of a national prize rewarding the work of young researchers, PhD students or postdoctoral fellows.

Placed under the high patronage of Collège de France (Paris), the French-Swedish Prize for excellence in Research is supported and sponsored by L'Oréal and Alstom Power Sweden AB. Focused on basic and applied research, its main goal is to promote and encourage research and scientific vocations among young researchers. It has also the ambition to bring closer the French and the Swedish scientific communities.

For 2009, two fields are targeted:

  • Human health and Ageing
  • Energy, Environment and Sustainable development

For each field, three prizes will be awarded. They include stipends from 5000 to 30 000 SEK and a scholarship for a one month internship in a French research centre.

THEME for 2009: "Human Health and ageing".
