GöteborgBIO and EXPERTISSUES has the pleasure of arranging this open seminar, presenting the latest advances within innovative cartilage and bone repair in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

The seminar will prelude the EXPERTISSUES Network of Excellence meeting, which will take place in Göteborg on 28-29 March.

There will also be a poster session, providing a forum for students and young scientists of EXPERTISSUES partners and other invited scientists to present their work and the results of integrated research effort. The focus of presentations on various aspects of bone and cartilage tissue engineering is particularly encouraged. Poster abstracts should be sent by e-mail to hanna.stenhamre@medic.gu.se before 28 February 2008.

The EXPERTISSUES Network of Excellence on Novel Therapeutic Strategies for Tissue Engineering of Bone and Cartilage Using Second Generation Biomimetic Scaffolds is a network of Excellence on Tissue Engineering of Connective Tissues, financed by the European Union Sixth Framework Programme over a five year-period (2004-2009). It brings together 23 partners from 13 countries and is co-ordinated by Professor Rui L. Reis at the University of Minho, Portugal.

All partners will join the 42 Months Progress Meeting of the EXPERTISSUES NoE in Göteborg to discuss activites performed and plans for the future. The meeting is hosted by Chalmers University of Technology, a partner institution of the network.

This seminar will be held in English.
