Institute for Biomaterials and Cell Therapy, IBCT
The Institute for Biomaterials and Cell Therapy, IBCT, constitutes an integral part of the regional infrastructure for stimulating future development within the field of biomaterials.

The Institute of Biomaterials and Cell Therapy (IBCT) is presently running three research projects together with:

  • Integrum
  • The Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University
  • The department of Biomaterials Science, Sahlgrenska Akademy and the University of Gotehnburg
  • Nobel Biocare
  • SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden
  • TATAA Biocenter
  • The department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Sahlgrenska Akademy and the University of Gotehnburg
  • Odontology clinics
  • Mölnlycke Health Care
  • Cochlear

In recent years, research in cell therapy and biomaterials has converged in studies of cell surface reaction mechanisms. The regional strength in both areas is a considerable advantage. Göteborg´s knowledge base in cell function is also important for developing new advanced biomaterials.
